Pete Whitehorse - Mescalero Apache Artist & Dancer
Artist Pete Whitehorse, an outstanding Native American craftsman was born in New Mexico on the Mescalero Apache Reservation. Pete has developed a unique style of his own and has been offering his unique creations of Indian artifacts, artwork and jewelry since the early ninties. When working to create any of his pieces, Pete is conscious to combine the rich American Indian culture with his personal life experiences to bring forth a very special handcraft that is uniquely his and allows his personality to show through.
Pete Whitehorse is a familiar figure at local pow wows, dancing most of his life, he started at an early age according to his family traditions. He first began to dance in the common style of a Southern Straight Dancer. More recently, Pete has transformed his dance style to that of Northern Traditional. It is his sincerest wishes that each artifact that he creates carries a tradition and an energy, to the lives that it touches. Tribe: Mescalero Apache
