Description
This beautiful shell pendant necklace features a stunning fossilized ammonite shell, sliced in half to reveal the crystalized internal chambers.
Fossilized ammonites are most commonly traced back to the lower Jurrasic and Cretaceous time periods, when the ancient oceans were teeming with cephelapod life forms, now extinct. Once a living organism, these ammonites were turned to stone through petrification, a process that replaces organic matter into sediment and minerals over millions of years.
Crafted from a natural ammonite, complete with a silver bail, soft braided strap and adjustable clasp, this necklace is perfect for southwest styling. Great for everyday wear, this necklace also makes a wonderful gift.
Pendants measure approximately 1.5"- 1.75" (not including bail), wearable drop length 11".
Picture representative, shells are naturally formed and each is unique, sizes vary.
