Description
This unique ancient stone is a genuine petrified wood fossil. Found all over the world, the most famous area of petrified wood deposits is located in northeast Arizona, at the Petrified Forest National Park.
During the late triassic period (about 230 million years ago) tectonic movement and volcanic erruputions shifted the Arizona landscape, toppling the ancient forest of the region. Covered over layers of volcanic ash and accumulated rain water, fallen trees were turned to stone through petrification, a process that replaces organic matter with sediment and minerals over millions of years.
Ancient Petrified Wood stones are popular for their stabilizing energy and natural beauty. Perfect for use in ceremonies, to display on a spiritual alter, or as a decorative accent. These stones also make great gifts.
