Description
This high-quality piece of authentic Native American, Navajo pottery uses real horsehair during the firing process to create this rustic piece. The artist throws the pieces of horsehair onto the pottery at just the right time to cause it to stick and melt into the piece. This causes a permanent application of the horsehair to the pot and yields the famous look that has become so popular.
Each piece is unique, no two are exactly alike. This pottery piece is in the shape of a steer skull, made with the traditional clay pottery horsehair design. Horsehair pottery has become famous by Native American potters. Intricate patterns are then hand etched without the use of patterns or templates. A perfect rustic home accent for southwest decor as well as a special gift.
Measures approximately 9" wide, 9" long. Actual skull is pictured.
Authentic Native American, Tribe: Navajo, Artist: Connie Edsitty
