This Navajo etched vase is a high-quality piece of authentic Native American pottery. This unique piece of pottery uses real horsehair during the firing process to create this rustic look.

The artist throws the pieces of horsehair onto the pottery at just the right time to cause it to stick and melt into the piece.  This causes a permanent application of the horsehair to the pot and yields the famous look that collectors enjoy.
