This high-quality vase is a piece of authentic Native American, Navajo pottery. The artist uses real horsehair, thrown onto the pottery at just the right time during the firing process, to melt onto the pottery. 

This causes a permanent decorative application of the horsehair to the pot and yields the famous look that collectors enjoy. Each piece is unique; no two are exactly alike.
