Tree Trunk Hand Drum 9"x5.5" - Aspen (pd5)

This is a genuine native aspen log drum. Perfect for sweat lodge or hand drumming, this genuine rawhide hand drum uses the hollowed trunk of an aspen tree for the drum core and has heavy cow hide heads and lacing.  This sweat lodge hand drum was created with rawhide that the drum maker carefully stretched and hand scraped, then cut the shape of the heads and lacing with a small knife. Rawhide is extremely strong requiring an equally strong drum ring.

This high quality hand drum has no problem as the aspen trunk is very strong which allows the drum to have a great voice. Each drum is different with its own unique irregular shape and character just as it came from the tree. This drum style is also perfect for drumming circles and meditation. Double sided drums usually have better results in a sweat lodge because the two sided covers keep their tone for drumming longer than a single sided hand drum.
